The 36th Annual Conference

October 16-18, 1996
Palm Springs Marquis Hotel
Palm Springs, California

The 36th Annual CEDPA Conference will be held at the Palm Springs Marquis Crowne Plaza Resort & Suites in Palm Springs. This will be the first time CEDPA will host a conference in the Palm Springs area. The conference will be held on October 16-18, 1996 (Wednesday through Friday), with preconference sessions scheduled for Tuesday, October 15, 1996.

As with previous years, the conference will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Following the opening remarks by CEDPA's president, Dr. Rudy Castruita will give the keynote address. Breakout sessions will follow for the remainder of the day. Wednesday's activities will conclude with the CEDPA-hosted President's Reception that evening.

Thursday will begin with breakout sessions that will lead into the all-day vendor exhibition. We expect about fifty vendors to be on hand to show you their latest products and services. Alex Kaplan will deliver our noontime address. The vendor exhibition will continue after lunch, concluding in the door-prize drawings that afternoon. Vendor-hosted hospitality suites will cap off Thursday's activities.

Friday morning's featured speaker and breakout sessions will be both interesting and informative. CEDPA's business meeting will conclude the conference activities. The conference will adjourn around noontime. The golf tournament will be held after the conference, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Announcements have been mailed to recipients of CEDPA's The DataBus newsletter as well as all public school district and county superintendents and technology coordinators in California. Additional announcements and registration forms can be downloaded directly from this website.

The CEDPA Board of Directors is recommending that this be a dress down conference. Come prepared to enhance your professional skills but leave your business suits, coats and ties at home. Palm Springs is a casual city with a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere, and our conference will definitely reflect that environment.

CEDPA’s Board of Directors will certainly be dressing down for this conference. Please join us and dress comfortably and casually for your conference!
