THE 37th Annual CEDPA Conference will be held at the Radisson Hotel Sacramento in Sacramento, California. The conference will be held on October 29-31, 1997 (Wednesday through Friday), with preconference sessions scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, 1997.

AS with previous years, the conference will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. Following the opening remarks by Greg Lindner, CEDPA's president, Dr. Glynn D. Ligon, president of Evaluation Software Publishing, Incorporated (ESP) and formerly the executive director of management information for the Austin Independent School District, will give the keynote address. Breakout sessions will follow for the remainder of the day. Wednesday's activities will conclude with the CEDPA-hosted President's Reception that evening.

THURSDAY will begin with discussion panels that you won't want to miss. The panels will lead into the all-day vendor exhibit. We expect over fifty vendors to be on hand to show you their latest products and services. The Honorable Sandra Tiffany, Assemblywoman from Clark County, Nevada, will deliver our noontime address. The vendor exhibit will continue after lunch, concluding in the door-prize drawings that afternoon. Vendor-hosted hospitality suites will cap off Thursday's activities.

FRIDAY'S featured speaker will be Kent Keel, Director of Informational & Educational Technology at the Kent School District in the state of Washington. This will be followed by discussion panels on topics of prime interest in today's educational environment. CEDPA's business meeting will conclude the conference activities. The conference will adjourn around noontime. The annual golf tournament, a highlight that was inaugurated at last year's conference, will be held after the conference, beginning at 2:00 p.m.

ANNOUNCEMENTS are being mailed to recipients of CEDPA's The DataBus newsletter as well as all public school district and county superintendents and technology coordinators in California. Additional announcements and registration forms can be downloaded directly from this website.

DUE to the popularity of last year's "Dress Down" atmosphere, the CEDPA Board of Directors is again recommending that this be a dress down conference. Come prepared to sharpen your professional skills and broaden your knowledge base but leave your business suits, coats and ties at home.

CEDPA's Board of Directors will certainly be dressing down for this conference. Please join us and dress comfortably and casually for your conference!
