An Open Source Initiative for Student and Business Administration Software in K-adult Jack Price and Michael Droe, Hacienda La Puente USD The Hacienda La Puente Unified School District has developed and deployed a K-12 and Adult education student information system and is preparing to deploy a business administration system in January 2002. These systems are being made available to California public K-12 institutions as part of an open source initiative for free. This session will provide a brief demonstration of these systems followed by a discussion on architecture, licensing and support.
