The 5th Annual Golf Tournament Results
Terrell Tucker, Panama-Buena Vista Union School District
For the fifth consecutive year, the annual CEDPA golf tournament officially closed the CEDPA Conference. In spite of some scheduling conflicts, 72 golfers (and I use the term golfers loosely!) teed off at the beautiful Sandpiper Golf Course in Santa Barbara. The weather was as great as the accommodations, enabling all to enjoy the golfing experience. When darkness had finally fallen, the 19th hole was an oasis, complete with hot coffee and various other libations.
A brand new 2001 Corvette convertible stood in front of the clubhouse; the reward for a hole-in-one on number 11. For the second consecutive year, the car was safe from all attempts and returned to the dealer with no winner.
Some folks did manage to play some successful golf. For the next year, at least, bragging rights go to:
|
Longest Drive, male: |
Robert Motley |
|
Longest Drive, female: |
Kim Paul |
|
Closest to the pin: |
Gary Deeter |
|
Lowest net scrambles score, to the team of: |
|
Doug Davis, Richard Mynderup
Donald Peters, Tony Russo |
Congratulations to these winners, but everyone actually won since the carts were laced with goodies and Novell provided tons of souvenirs for the post tournament drawing. Our 6th annual golf tournament will be played in Monterey next year and I look forward to having each of you included in this one. Once again, many thanks go to Joe Rodehaver and the Novell Corporation for their continued sponsorship of the golf tournament!
