THE 39th Annual CEDPA Conference will be held at the Doubletree Hotel in Monterey, California. The conference will be held on November 17-19, 1999 (Wednesday through Friday), with preconference sessions scheduled for Tuesday, November 16, 1999.

AS with previous years, the conference will commence at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday. The keynote address by Intel's Carlene Ellis will immediately follow the opening remarks by CEDPA president Terrell Tucker. Breakout sessions will follow for the remainder of the day. Wednesday's activities will conclude with the CEDPA-hosted President's Reception that evening.

THURSDAY will begin with breakout sessions that you won't want to miss. The breakouts will lead into the all-day vendor exhibit. We again expect over fifty vendors to be on hand to show you their latest products and services. The vendor exhibits will be closed during lunch. Exhibits will conclude with the door-prize drawings that afternoon. Vendor-hosted hospitality suites will cap off Thursday's activities.

FRIDAY'S featured speaker, Dr. Jackie Lamb from the California Department of Education, will be followed by breakout sessions on topics of prime interest in today's educational environment. CEDPA's business meeting will conclude the conference activities. The conference will adjourn around noontime. The Fourth Annual golf tournament will be held after the conference, beginning at 1:00 p.m.

IN ADDITION TO the generous door prize donations provided by conference exhibitors, Microsoft Corporation will distribute a copy of Microsoft Office2000 Pro software to each full conference attendee. This software will be included in the conference registration materials packet.

ANNOUNCEMENTS will be mailed to recipients of CEDPA's DataBus newsletter as well as all public school district and county superintendents and technology coordinators in California in July. Additional announcements and registration forms will be available online when they are published and can be downloaded directly from this website.

DUE to the popularity of the "Dress Down" atmosphere in past conferences, the CEDPA Board of Directors is again recommending that this be a dress down conference. Come prepared to sharpen your professional skills and broaden your knowledge base but dress casually and comfortably.

IF you are interested in getting a head-start with registration, a Conference Registration Form packet is available for downloading in Adobe Acrobat (PDF) format. This packet contains registration forms for the conference and preconference sessions, hotel reservation form, and golf tournament registration form. Take advantage of this before the official announcement is published; deadline for submitting hotel reservations is October 16, 1999, in order to receive preferred CEDPA conference room rates. The deadline for conference preregistration is November 1, 1999.
